2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell

Now, the German automaker has unveiled a prototype model of the car named “SLS AMG E-Cell”. Mercedes has yet to say when the SLS AMG E-Cell will enter production, but it is believed that it could be available in a limited number of units as early as 2013.

Mercedes notes that this solution substantially reduces the unsprung masses compared to wheel-hub motors. On the E-Cell prototype, Stuttgart’s engineers replaced the standard SLS AMG’s 571HP 6.3-liter V8 petrol engine with four electric motors placed near the wheels effectively making it a four-wheel drive model.

Way of working, The electric motors produce a combined output of 392kW or the equivalent of 526HP and a maximum torque of 880 Nm / 649 lb-ft, the latter available right from the start. Mercedes-Benz estimates that the zero-emissions SLS AMG model can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62mph) in around 4,0 seconds.

Electric energy is provided by a 400-volt, liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged under braking. The battery modules are located in front of the firewall, in the centre tunnel and behind the seats, with Mercedes claiming that advantages of this solution include the vehicle’s low centre of gravity and the balanced weight distribution.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell interior include a revised instrument cluster with displays for speed, charge status, and estimated range, and a new touch-screen infotainment system that not only operates audio, climate, and navigation functions but also displays the flow of power from the four electric motors. The new black-and-white mix of leather and Alcantara on the seats, steering wheel, door linings, and center console round off the changes over the conventionally-powered SLS AMG.

While in the exterior, aside from the prototype’s bright “AMG lumilectric magno” paint job, the all-electric Gullwing gets a unique front apron with an extendable front splitter, color coded grille trim, revised air vents, dark finish for the mirrors and wheels and a new rear diffuser that does away with the standard model’s tail pipes.

2010 Lotus RGB Special Edition

Recently made a special edition Lotus Exige and Elise on the RGB is marked with the initials, the name of Roger Becker, Director of Lotus Engineering Vehicles. Both limited edition models are offered in four colours: Aspen White, Starlight Black, Solar Yellow and Carbon Grey. The cars also carry Roger Becker’s signature on the side of the bodywork, a numbered interior plaque and a monochrome Lotus badge on the nose.

The both are Elise SC RGB and Exige S RGB special editions come with both Sports and Touring packs as standard. The Elise, with a supercharged 1.8-litre engine developing 217bhp, should do 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds according to the manufacturer. With an intercooler and an extra 40bhp the Exige should get the 0-60mph time down to about four seconds.

Cheap of the Noble Supercar

Super cars simply do not alias valuable supercar ’super’. Luxury car maker Noble British origin, can make a super car and affordable.

As quoted by Autocar, the founder of Noble, Noble tells Lee that he had made a prototype for a super car that ‘cheap’ it.

Noble described the car as an affordable car, but very fast.

The price is believed to not exceed the car like any other supercar that is above the price of this car. Or compare with other cars of Noble M600 that cost 3 times as much.

The car will be manufactured in South Africa precisely by the High-Tech Automotive, automobile manufacturers have other specialties Noble.

High-Tech will now begin testing the model car as evaluation materials. This car will start in the streets of the UK to be tested before the end of 2009.
